Situated in the heart of the South Downs National Park, Slindon College has all the highlights of West Sussex on it doorstep.

Our local families are spoilt for choice; from cycling the South Downs Way, to enjoying a performance at the Chichester Festival Theatre or getting out on the water with a spot of dinghy sailing at Arun Yacht Club, the immediate area surrounding Slindon College has plenty to offer!

The Goodwood Estate, historical Arundel and the cathedral city of Chichester are each just a few miles away.  The South-Coast’s award winning beaches with a wide range of watersports are close by along with many festivals, museums and events celebrating local and regional history.

Many of our day pupils’ families live throughout West Sussex and pupils arrive at school using a variety of transport including taxi, school minibus and private car.

The beautiful cathedral city of Chichester has a strong Roman heritage. Surrounded by 1800-year-old Roman walls, Chichester is steeped in history yet has a vibrant, youthful feel. There are a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants to sample and the city is home to the renowned Chichester Festival Theatre.

Arundel

The picturesque market town of Arundel is famous for its stunning castle and Roman Catholic cathedral. The town also boasts a Wildlife and Wetland centre and has its very own open air swimmimg pool, Arundel Lido. The hilly streets of Arundel town centre are scattered with boutiques and quirky eateries.

Petworth

Set within the South Downs National Park, Petworth is a centre for arts and culture and is famed for its independent antiques shops. The town is also home to the magnificent National Trust property, Petworth House.

Goodwood

The Goodwood Estate has something on offer for everyone. From top class horse racing with its annual pinnacle, Glorious Goodwood, through to the world renowned Goodwood motor circuit which hosts the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival. Goodwood also boasts an organic farm, four restaurants, two 18-hole golf courses, an aerodrome, health club, The Kennels private members’ club and a hotel.

South Downs National Park

Britain’s newest National Park came into being in 2010. The South Downs offer the chance to explore rolling chalk downland with views stretching to the sea and across the weald.  The hills are a haven for walking, cycling, wildlife spotting and horse riding with the 100 mile long South Downs Way running right across the park.

Chichester Harbour AONB

Whether sailing, walking, cycling, bird watching or simply going to the beach, the Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a wonder. Visitors marvel at the beauty of the channels and the criss-crossing inlets over mudflats and saltmarsh at low tide, and the glittering expanse of sea at high tide.
