Sporting and Outdoor Facilities at Slindon College

The playing fields and outdoor areas include sports pitches for traditional games such as football, rugby, cricket and athletics including hurdles, high jump, triple jump, shot put.  The College also offers contemporary sporting activities including fundamental movement skills such as ultimate frisbee and disc golf.

The purpose built Multi Use Games Area offers the opportunity to play basketball, football, tennis and hand ball on a fenced hard court.

The outdoor heated swimming pool, open from March-October, is used in lessons and Enrichment time to learn to swim, develop basic lifesaving skills and practice for water based activities such as canoeing.

The Farm is the home to our donkeys, alpacas, ducks, chickens and cats and provides growing beds and composting facilities for a real field to fork experience delivered by way of Land Based Studies and Food Tech.

The College developed the house's ornamental garden into a Sensory Garden to give pupils access to a fun educational resource allowing them to explore their senses and nature through sound, smell, texture, sight etc as well as being a calming place to relax and unwind.

The 14 acre National Trust grounds feature a woodland which is home to our Forest School and our recently developed Slindon Bike Hub Mountain Bike Track. The track offers three levels of competency following the MIAS Gear Awards qualification framework supervised by our qualified mountain bike instructor.

The house's original Dairy is now the Gym.
This was organised and managed through the P.E. department, working with 6th form pupils to design, access funding and renovate the building to house all equipment. There is a range of cardiovascular and free weight equipment. The gym is available for all pupils KS3/4 and 5. Used by BTEC pupils, boarders and enrichment activities and future lunchtime clubs. Thanks should also go to our FoSC (Friends of Slindon College) who supported the P.E. department in funding a few pieces of equipment including the air bike and audio equipment.

The Primary Department have their own enclosed play corner.
