Greenpower is back for 2026!
Slindon College Greenpower Team at Dunsfold Park
The Slindon College is unique in that it takes part in Greenpower. This initiative inspires young people around the world to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths through a unique challenge: to design, build and race an electric car.
The team, made up of pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, recently took part in the Greenpower heat at Dunsfold Park. For the first time in nine years, the team entered three cars: Burby and Flinty in the two F24 races, and Lightning in the F24+ race.
Burby achieved an excellent third place, while Lightning recorded the fastest lap time of its race and finished in sixth place. Flinty, in its first season of Greenpower racing, achieved two respectable top-twenty finishes.
The team now looks forward to the Greenpower International Final at Goodwood Motor Circuit on Sunday 18th October 2026.
An excellent day was had by all, with students gaining valuable racing experience and enjoying the opportunity to compete against teams from across the country.
The Slindon College Greenpower activity is run by the Head of Design Technology, Mr Paul Burbidge.
