Success at our first Duathlon!

At the end of last half term, Slindon College took to the open air with an epic whole school Duathlon to celebrate the opening of our new Mountain Bike track; a new addition to our incredible grounds, situated within the South Downs National Park. The students then jumped in to our heated swimming pool for the next part of the race!

Our Sixth Form students were given the job of planning the event for the first, whole school inter-House sports event of this kind. In addition to this our Sixth Form students have been project managing the creation of our Slindon Bike Hub, a facility which will utilise the mountain bikes and tracks around the College's National Trust grounds and woodland. The students have had support and guidance from a variety of staff within our Physical Education, Maths and Art departments, and the students have had the opportunity to develop essential work based learning experience's including: customer service skills, social media and website design as well as marketing, administration, coaching and leadership.

We are hoping this  Duathlon will be a great kick-start to the future of this facility! If you'd like to see a short video of this event in action, head to our Facebook group now!

A huge thank you to Mr Belcher and Mr Muir  with their team for crafting the event.
